Festival of Sharing 2017
Each year, churches across denominations assemble Church World Service kits to meet the needs of displaced peoples around the world. In 2016, just in Ohio, our United Methodist churches collected and dispersed 8,236 Emergency Buckets, 13,980 Hygiene Kits, and 3,000 School Kits to communities affected by Hurricane Matthew.
Our warehouse is close to empty, so let’s work together to refill that space and continue the work of the Festival of Sharing!
Below are the three types of kits you can donate. Click on each name for detailed packing instructions. Each packed kit requires the noted processing fee, made out to Christ Church, designated FOS Processing. In lieu of packing, you can give in any offering the donation value, designated Festival of Sharing, to provide a kit.
- School Kits: Give children in impoverished communities and refugee camps some of the basic tools for learning. Processing: $2. Donation Value: $15.
- Hygiene Kits: Provide kits to make all the difference between sickness and health for struggling families. Processing: $2. Donation Value: $15.
- Emergency Cleanup Bucket: These supplies enable people to manage the overwhelming job of cleaning up after a natural disaster. Processing: $3. Donation Value: $75.
Printed packing directions will be available in the Narthex. Please have all kits and donations turned in to the church by Sunday, September 17th.
