The Lenten season of self-reflection is over and we step into the last week of Jesus’ life here on earth. On Sunday we join the cheering crowds, waving our palms as Jesus enters Jerusalem. On Thursday we sit at the table with our Lord. He washes our feet, breaks the bread, and loves us. He loves us knowing that we will doubt him, abandon him, even betray him. On Friday we watch as Jesus suffers alone. He anguishes in pain, grief, and loss while we watch…or maybe we turn away.
Holy Week is the most important and taxing week of the Christian year. Be willing to immerse yourself in it. Without walking into the depths of Holy Week, we cannot fully experience what awaits us on Easter Sunday.
