Advent Study 2016

Advent Study: 24/6

A Prescription for a Healthier, Happier Life

According to surveys, 45% of Americans would prefer to skip Christmas. Nearly a quarter of Americans report feeling “extreme stress” come holiday time, according to the American Psychological Association. Holiday stress statistics say that 69% of people are stressed by the feeling of having a “lack of time”.

Yet in the life of the church, the Advent season is a time to prepare our hearts for the Prince of Peace, to long for the Christ Child, and to look forward to the Savior’s second coming. Our culture of holiday expectations, packed December calendars, and stress-induced exhaustion can make Advent anything but peaceful.

Michael Sleeth MD, has the prescription for a happier and healthier life: A Sabbath. Join us for a six week study using Michael Sleeth’s book, 24/6. We pray that the concepts in this book will make your holidays and your life less stressful and more meaningful.
