Advent 2018

Author and Pastor Mark Rawle writes,

Throughout history, people have debated and drawn a dividing line between the “sacred” and the “secular”. Scripture says that all things were made through Christ (John 1:3), and through Christ all things were reconciled to God (Colossians 1:20). In other words, everything and everyone in our world contains a spark of the divine – everything is sacred. Through Christ, God assumed culture and transformed it. I truly believe we are called not to reject the culture we live in, but to re-narrate its meaning – to tell God’s story in the midst of it.

This Advent season, through the book and video series by Pastor Rawle, our congregation will take a look at the Christmas classic The Nutcracker through the lens of faith, finding God’s greatest gift of the Christ child and of the kingdom Christ came to build. This is multi-generational approach. Children, youth, and adults will be studying the same topics each week of Advent. Mark you calendars with the Advent programming listed below!
