Connect through Serving

Serving together as a church family gives us a greater connection to each other, forms lasting friendships, gives us a greater empathy for those whom we serve, and deepens our relationship with God.

If you are looking for a way to connect through service, take a moment and consider: What are your gifts, training, hobbies, experiences? What activity brings you joy? You may find something in our Outreach or Ministries menus above that interests you. Take time to speak with one of our pastors and ask what gifts they see in you. God definitely has a way to use your unique gifts in the Body of Christ.

Here are just a few examples of how people have found deeper connection through ministry in Christ UMC: Playing an instrument, counting the offering, cooking, helping a child with homework, greeting a newcomer, leading a responsive reading, sending cards, sewing pillowcase dresses, knitting a prayer shawl, painting murals, hanging Pentecost streamers, organizing a closet, weeding a garden, transcribing historical records, adding their voice to the choir, tying off an ugly quilt, holding a baby, baking cookies for prisoners, visiting the lonely…
