Lenten Offering: Grace Children’s Hospital
Grace Children’s Hospital was birthed from the vision of James & Virginia Snavely (from our West Ohio Conference) for a tuberculosis clinic in Haiti. That vision was 59 years ago. Today, Grace Children’s Hospital serves some of the poorest districts in Port au Prince Haiti, seeing over 400 patients a day in their outpatient clinic. They disperse desperately needed immunizations, AIDS medications, and nutritional supplements.
GCH also educates medical professionals and rural community health workers. Their trained midwives have delivered over 1,100 babies in the past year, making a huge difference in the maternal and child life expectancy in the Haitian communities they serve. The hospital and its trained rural workers have had over 13,000 visits to monitor infant growth rates and provided close to 15,000 lifesaving vaccinations to children.
Haiti continues to be a country in crisis. Grace Children’s Hospital is not immune. The hospital continues under financial strain, the rural clinics faring the worst. In response to the great need at Grace Children’s Hospital, we pray you’ll make an Lenten gift to help continue their important work. You can give in any Christ Church offering by marking your envelope or check: Grace Children’s Hospital. You also can give online here.
